Local Taxi Operator Commits to Service Standards to Better Serve Cruise Guests

To ensure Cruise Guests best interests are being met, the Saint John Port Authority has requested proposals from local Taxi operators to manage the on-dock cruise taxi program. This new program proved to be successful in the 2006 season, resulting in having a dedicated taxi representative on the dock at all times to manage passengers questions or concerns, a customized training for drivers, and a program of monitoring vehicles to ensure they are clean and up to standard.

Cruise Guests are able to benefit from this program by utilizing any taxi inside the gates of the cruise terminal in the Port of Saint John. Photo ID’s are issued by the Saint John Port Authority to the drivers ( the ID’s must be visible at all times) named by the Taxi Operator as having completed and conformed to all the requirements as set forth in the proposal.

Transit Service

Saint John is served by public transit with bus stops for all the main routes located very near the cruise terminal, at the foot of King Street.
